Mr. Barkley is a Licensed Senior Psychological Examiner, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Licensed Professional Counselor with Mental Health Service Provider status and has over 35 years of experience. He is a Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor and an Approved Clinical Supervisor. He is also a Clinical Member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy and an Approved Supervisor.
Mr. Barkley is a listed Rule 31 Family Mediator. His areas of specialization include couples therapy, marital and family therapy and adult individual therapy. Mr. Barkley has training in a number of different energy psychology modalities for the treatment of emotional or psychological issues.
Mr. Barkley’s previous experience includes serving as a Baptist Minister, a clinician for a mental health center, Director of Planning and Evaluation for the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and a practitioner in private practice for the past 25 years.
Janice L. Barkley, MA
Janice L Barkley, M.A. is a Licensed Senior Psychological Examiner, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Professional Counselor with Health Service Provider status and Certified Transactional Analyst. She is a Clinical Member and Approved Supervisor for the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
Her areas of expertise include marital and family therapy, adolescents and their families, and women’s issues including issues around abuse and abuse recovery.
She has presented seminars on many topics such as working with problem families, treating the criminal personality, managing stress, women owning power and assuring change in treatment.
Mrs. Barkley worked at a community Mental Health Center for 14 years and is past Director of the Franklin and Coffee County Counseling and Evaluation Services prior to joining our group in private practice.
Melanie Hamilton, LCSW
Melanie Hamilton is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 35 years of experience in the mental health field. She has been with Barkley and Associates for 14 years working with children and adults struggling with mood and anxiety disorders, abuse issues, grief related issues and ADD, ADHD.
In addition to traditional psychotherapy methods, she uses child centered play therapy with children between the ages of 4 and 10 and has trained in Healing Touch Therapy and Donna Eden’s Energy Medicine.
Chad Crouse, MA
Chad Crouse is a Licensed Psychological Examiner and a Licensed Professional Counselor with Mental Health Service Provider status. His areas of specialization include couples therapy and individual therapy with adults. He also works with older teens and their families.
Chad has experience working with diverse age groups, from teens to the elderly. He also works with diverse populations, including gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered individuals as well as people living in non-traditional relationships.
Chad's previous experience includes working as a counselor in local area nursing homes and the Tennessee Prison for Women. He has also served as contractor/consultant for the Tennessee DCS and for MTSU's Faculty Wellness Program.
Jean Sauls, Office Manager
Jean joined us in 2011. She comes to us via organizations in the community where she served children and the elderly. She brings her organizational skills, communication skills, her deep compassion, and her desire to create an office environment that benefits both clients and staff.
Jean answers the phone and therefore is the first contact you may have with our office. She manages appointments and processes and files insurance claims. She also efficiently maintains our client database, filing system, accounts receivables, and payables.
She is available to answer questions about client services, insurance, and make appointments 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday–Friday.
Angie Davis, LCSW
Angie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She joined Barkley and Associates in 2013 and came onto staff full time in 2014. She has worked in Rutherford County for the past 20 years with experience in the field of child abuse from prevention to intervention. She has worked at The Guidance Center, Exchange Club Family Center, TIPS/TEIS, and Cedar Grove Residential Treatment Center. Her experience is particularly strong in working with children, teens and their families.
Angie works with parenting and behavior management issues from preschoolers up through troubled teens. She assists families who are struggling with divorce, anger management and abuse issues. She does individual, group and family work on a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, and sexual issues.
Angie is currently offering counseling for children, teens, adults, couples and families. She is accepting many forms of Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Magellan, Aetna and Tricare insurance. Check with our office manager to see if she accepts your particular insurance.
